Santa Rosa, Calif., musician Jason Farnham presents an evening of contemporary piano at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Bunnell Street Arts Center. Tickets are a suggested $20. Nicknamed “Schroeder” from the Peanuts comic strip because of his toy piano, Farnham describes his show as “George Winston, Victor Borge, Schroeder from Peanuts and Beethoven on steroids.” He says his show is family-friendly and appropriate for all age groups.
“There is a mix of jazz standards with original arrangements, bossa nova, original tunes, classical with a twist, and humor throughout,” he said. “I play a tune upside down and do a remix of Beethoven’s Fur Elise, now called ‘Fur Crying Out Loud Elise, Let’s Dance!’”
Farnham grew up in northeast Ohio and studied music at Ohio University. Since moving with his wife to California in 2006, he has composed and performed music for commercials, films and television shows. His song “Rock Star,” from the album “Barriers,” was placed in two feature films, “Bobby Khan’s Ticket to Hollywood” and “American High School,” and a number of commercials.
Jason also provides background music for Harpo Productions, and one of his tracks was selected as the theme song for “The Dr. Oz Show.” For more information, visit www.jasonfarnham.com.
I have started composing 10 new tracks for Cinephonix, a high-quality U.K.-based music library. I will post tracks to Soundcloud as they become finished.
